Over 13 years ago, I decided to use my knowledge, network and experience within the international logistics field to help companies fill their senior management positions. My main focus is on supporting clients on how key positions can best be filled. This is what makes the Executive Search discipline so interesting and fun. It is about the strong focus on content and quality, and translating the stakeholders’ wishes within an organization to candidates. Together with a very pleasant team that is constantly eager to find talent in the international logistics and Supply Chain market. We hold opinions that challenge our clients, candidates, and especially our own team to continuously bring forward successful and creative solutions. Besides that, we have fun and support each other when necessary.

Apart from SCM Executives, my passion can be found in helping people who are less fortunate than we are in the Western world. I am thankful that I can be part of Stichting4Life, to give women and children in the biggest slum of Africa a chance at work and education. With the team of Stichting4Life at our office in Amstelveen, we carry the challenging responsibility to create sustainable employment opportunities for 1600 women, and thus help children get a fair challenge at primary education.

While studying Psychology at the University of Amsterdam, I got intrigued by human interaction within organizations. Especially, human interaction in change projects that are often hard to predict. The effect of diversity, culture and internal politics provides a challenging context in which business and psychology are interchangeably connected. Clearly, I wanted to know more about this! As soon a I held the title of behavioural scientist, I chose a career in the field of Executive Search.

Which is a challenging field that continuously changes, and still provides new insights every day! Thanks to many inspiring conversations with professionals in board and senior management positions, I gained knowledge of and experience in the subject matter, Supply Chain and Logistics, and business management, organizations and (change) management. Combined with my background in psychology, this turned into a unique perspective and a solid base for Executive Search and Business Coaching. In Business Coaching, I am focused on the successful development of people and organizations.

I have an entrepreneurial spirit, and I like to work together with people driven by ambition. In my personal life, I prefer to be out and about with friends and family. Together with them, I enjoy extensive dining and a good glass of wine!

In total, I hold over 35 years of experience in the international expedition and logistic sector, in various executive positions with leading companies. Throughout my career, I gained experience in the integration of European and worldwide transportation mediation organizations, and setting up new international companies. Within SCM Executives, my focus is on Strategic Consultancy as a senior advisor.

The world of recruitment and selection is a world that is always moving and never boring! It gives me a lot of energy to be able to support people in the further development of their career, but also to be able to proactively present interesting career opportunities to candidates. I base this support on 12 years of work experience in recruitment, in which I have always worked at various companies on filling in positions within Supply Chain or other disciplines such as Sales, Marketing, Finance and HR. I supplemented my International Business Management training with additional training in the field of social psychology and career coaching.

At SCM I currently coach a number of Consultants who are at the start of their career. The assignments we are working on together and the network of organizations SCM engages in gives me a lot of energy - all dynamic organizations active in a world that is constantly changing and regularly involving us in bringing in talented candidates, who want to further their career within Supply Chain and Logistics.

In addition to my work as a Consultant at SCM I travel a lot, I like to exercise regularly and after 10 years I am still enthusiastic about living in the city of Amsterdam, where most of my friends also live.

My passion for equitation forms a red thread that runs through my life. I combined this passion with my role as consultant within SCM Executives, where I have been working for the last 7 years. Throughout these years, I learned the ins and outs of Logistics and Supply Chain.

In my work, I strive for the best match between candidate and organization in an involved and trustworthy way. Getting people’s competences out in the open is something I really like to do. With my strong organizational processing, and people skills, I help clients and candidates to make the right choices for their future career. I love the diversity in tasks within this field. My colleagues see me as a driven and client-oriented colleague, who works with great effort and professionality.

My career started out in the travel business, for which I flew around the world. I made sure that the quality of the offered trips was guaranteed. After that, I joined a Full-Service Brand Activation agency, where I was responsible for People & Planning. I liked the dynamics of arranging big events a lot. Especially when everything came together and people were enjoying themselves.

Since 2016, I work with SCM Executives as Office Assistant. My continuous focus on the perfect service is again a key element in this role. The variety in projects and tasks appeals to me. Working in a small team, planning and coordination fit me like a glove: working hard with a healthy dose of humor is what matters to me.

Just after finishing the Work and Organizational Psychology Masters at the University of Amsterdam, I joined SCM Executives. Besides my theoretical knowledge on motivation, leadership and team development, I acquired relevant practical experience to be able to execute the role of Junior Consultant. For example through my research and advise based role in setting up an alumni network, and working in a team to stimulate a client orientation.

I am involved in the entire executive search process, from the 360° approach to the presentation of the final shortlist. To me, the exiting thing about working for SCM is having to switch between clients and candidates within various roles and disciplines. Connecting people and stimulating open discussion are important incentives for me. This is why I gained energy from successfully deploying collaboration between departments and teams. Within SCM, connecting people is translated into finding the right match between client and candidate. In my pastime, I sing, play the piano, and I am a board member of the alumni association of Psychology at the University of Amsterdam.

I am naturally driven by my curiosity in human behavior. It gives me a lot of energy when I can help employees at both performance level and vitality level. In my studies Work and Organizational Psychology, I gained a lot of knowledge in the field of motivation, employee vitality, and interventions in the workplace. In my current position, I think it is very interesting to get to know a candidate, to understand him/her, and to look if he/she is suitable for the position. In my work, I find it important to deliver high quality services, such as presenting a good shortlist of candidates. In addition, I help the customer with my excellent strategic, and communication skills as best as I can. Finally, I really enjoy working in the field of assessment and coaching within SCM.

Outside of work, I really enjoy doing different sports. I like to play football, fitness, and others sports. I also love to play strategy games such as risk and chess with friends. Finally, I think family, friends, and my girlfriend are one of the most important things in my life. With my girlfriend I like to do a lot of fun things such as travelling to foreign countries or visiting great cities.

It struck me during my BA in Psychology that what interests me the most is the combination of business and human behaviour. Putting the puzzle together connecting the complexity of a person and the ever-changing dynamics of the job is one of the most exciting challenges I like to devote my resources to. After my Master’s in Work- and Organizational Psychology life fortunately brought me to SCM Executives where I can gain experience in the business world and remain focused on professionals’ personality. Working together with enthusiastic and cheerful colleagues is essential to me to achieve the best results.

I am big on environment, I enjoy extensive and planet-friendly dining, yoga, running and going to the movies. I am the happiest when I am with my family, beloved ones and when I get to visit foreign countries with my girlfriend.

At the moment, I study commercial economy at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (specialization: Digital Marketing). Next to my study, I work at SCM Executives, where I am responsible for the support department. I am concerned with data and thus the privacy of our candidates, I take care of optimizing the process, and support the team when necessary.

In the future, I would like to develop myself within the marketing world, and specialize in big data marketing. My study fits my activities at SCM Executives. I enjoy working within SCM Executives: a nice team, a good atmosphere, and it fits perfectly with my studies.
